Sydney Quickie - Adriano Zumbo Pâtissier (The Star)

It is impossible to not see this bright pink neon sign when you are at The Star. One of the few Zumbo shops located in Sydney, this location is unique for serving up Adriano Zumbo's creations on a conveyor belt!

The place fills up rather quickly, but you will be rewarded with a seat in no time as most people do not linger once they had their fill of the delicious sweets.

The range off the conveyor belt is not that plentiful, but offers a range that caters to almost everyone. I picked the Strawberry Shortcake and it was tasty. It was not the best Strawberry Shortcake I have had, but it definitely hit the spot for me.

The Doughnuts are available on the menu, and are made to order. This results in a serving of hot and fluffy balls of dough, filled with your choice of chocolate or caramel. Mister T enjoyed these plenty and I too have to admit that these were a lot better than the cake I had.

We purchased a bunch of Zumbo's Macarons (also affectionately known as 'Zumbarons'), but forgot to take a photo before they were devoured. Maybe it is because they are freshly made and never frozen, but these scrumptious bites are way better what I had recently.

Zumbo does its macarons extremely well, and I hope that they will soon set up shop in Queensland to cater to their fans here!

  1. Hi,

I've added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself without having to wait for us to do it! Next time you post a review, give it a try. Here's how:

    - Make sure you're signed into Urbanspoon.
    - Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): https://www.urbanspoon.com/br/337/11962/Brisbane/Klutzy-Berry.html
    - Click "Edit blog settings".
    - In the Pending Posts section, click "Edit and publish my pending posts".
    - Then, enter the "snippet" text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.

    Please make sure that:
    - The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
    - The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what's in the post.
    - The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.

Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.

We'll give you one week to do it yourself, then it'll go into our queue to publish.

Thank you for all of your contributions, and let me know if you have any questions.

    Greg
